Frequently asked questions

How does app blocking work? When a prayer time comes in, the apps you chose are locked through Apple's Screen Time. Open Miqat, mark the prayer as done, and they unlock. Miqat never sees which apps you picked; the selection happens on Apple's own screen.

I turned on Strict Mode and want to turn it off. Strict Mode stays on until the current prayer is marked done. After that, switch it off from the Block tab.

Prayer times look wrong. Check your location and calculation method under Settings. Different regions use different methods (for example Diyanet in Türkiye). Pick the one your local mosque uses.

Athan is not playing. Make sure notifications are allowed for Miqat in iOS Settings, Focus modes are not silencing it, and the ringer switch is on. Athan sound can be set per prayer inside Miqat.

My streak broke. Can I get it back? Streak freezes protect one missed day each (2 per month free, 5 with Premium). Period Mode pauses your streak completely. A broken streak cannot be restored manually, but your garden keeps every prayer you have ever marked.

How do I cancel my subscription? Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Miqat. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.

How do I use an invite code? Open Settings, find the Invite card and tap "Got an invite code?". Enter your friend's code there.

How do I delete my account and data? Settings, Account, Delete account. This removes your account, prayer history, garden and streaks. Signing out alone does not delete anything.

Where is my data stored? Your blocked-app list stays with Apple. Prayer history syncs to your account so you can restore it on a new phone.
